ATY Project's

selection & recruitment...

The selection of students is conducted by the mentoring institutions via their outreach programs and interstate offices, and in consultation with Regional Arts Australia, The Smith Family, and Barnados.

Potential participants can be also be nominated by a teacher or professional artist.

Each nominated student must provide 2 letters of support from the school principal and an artist or community representative, indicating student’s outstanding potential and achievements. The letters must address these selection criteria: 

Essential characteristics:

display outstanding talent and potential  

indicate a commitment to a career in their artform

indicate maturity and sense of responsibility

have the ability to work in a team

have an interest in collaboration

be highly motivated 
 be good ambassadors for their educational institution
Desirable characteristics:

a strong sense of self-confidence

good communications skills
