the

Australian Talented Youth Project...

...is a 10-day long mentoring program set in the heart of Canberra, the nation's capital, that culminates on the eve of Australia Day.

The 2010 program is planned to take place from 16th. January to 26th. January 2010, with mentoring program finishing on the eve of Australia Day.

It is anticipated that the Project will culminate in a multi-arts performance and the screening of a short documentary encapsulating the highlights of the mentoring activities.

Bringing young, talented people from all over Australiato the National Capital for a 10- day mentoring program and involving them in Australia Day celebrations, provides numerous yet significant outcomes related to this important national event:

1. Symbolises coming together, in a "meeting place", of all Australians, including those from the remotest communities.

2. Fosters the sense of national identity of young Australians, visiting perhaps for the first time the nation's capital and the icons of Australian history and culture.

3. Nurtures the talent of gifted, young people, whose inventiveness, creativity and leadership will shape their communities and the cultural future of Australia.
